120 Days

Excellentay porfavor!!! Thats awesome in spanish I think… lol anyways. 120Days in indie electro band out of Norway and they are awesome. Parlor Mob

I always thought I was born in the wrong generation. The music, cars and movies I love all seem to be from a time before mine. Or maybe I just had to wait till I turned 22. The band “Parlor Mob” is the latest and greatest creation to come out of New Jersey. These guys got it all going, from guitars to tamborines to a care free attitude. I cannot wait to see these guys in Vancouver August 31! Its gonna be an amazing time.

Sam Sparro

Stumbled upon this guy reading some paper called e@x%#@*&*#& or something like that… lol. Its a free Vancouver paper I found waiting for my burrito. Anyways hes alright so far. I’m not sure if he is part of the machine or an artist. I guess we will just have to wait and see. Hes one of those artists that will be famous after some house or electronic dj remixes his song. Trust me you’ll know what I mean after you watch the video.

The Cool Kids

Yo you know the cool kids? Not those chumps you may have went to school with. I’m talking about the fantastic duo called ” The Cool Kids”. A couple young fresh kids combining fashion with retro rap is on fire right now. They used to roll with A Trak on his label Fool’s Gold but left after not getting the right attention. They remind me of a NERD meets 80′s rap with a dash of rock n roll. Well that’s my description anyways you decide for yourself.

MGMT

Check em out super chill band. A really indie feel hopefully they won’t go away to quick. For now they are definitely killin it. Their lyrics are awesome and I am still not sure if they live by them. They are pretty crazy and theres a lot of suggestions of getting messed on some mind altering drugs.

VAN SHE

A wicked group I recently stumbled upon. Although they have been out for some time now. They are slowly creepin on North America. Aren’t we last to hear about great bands anyways? No.. well Maybe its just me. Anyways this Aussie super group, has an amazing sound  thats techy, indie, new wave and everything great about a new sound. They have several solid hits and if you haven’t fallen victim to downloading, it’s definitely an album worth picking up. Hits like Strangers is a chuggin fast tempo beat with a solid hook and Kelly a more mellow laid back tune you can really chill out to.

Stanley Cup 2008

Detroit Detroit Detroit…. they did it again. Not to mention a bunch of records. Lidstrom first Eurotrash captain to captain a winning team and our good ol boy Dan Cleary first Newfoundlander to win a cup. This was another memorable year of hockey and another great series to watch. The nail biting end of the game was great. I was hoping lady luck was on their side for the stretch.
