Game 5

Wow what a game! Six periods of intense talented hockey, a broken nose and 3 garbage goals. The hockey gods have blessed us all with a game 6. As Ipredicted, Detroit will take it in six back home and add some more hardware to their jewelery box. I have to admit I wasn’t sure if I was watching NHL hockey or a tom thumb game. Evgeni Malkin touching the puck for an offside, when he obviously knew it was. And of course those garbage goals. Kronwall scoring on his net (not a bad shot) and the final goal. Off the refs backside and right to Malkin. I guess in the big picture that is just a part of playoff hockey. A result of hard work, emotionally drained players and the fact that someone has to win. I think the only one who wasn’t in it was Mario Lemeuix. He sat there the whole game without an ounce of expression on his face. took the OT goal to awake super Mario.

You got to wonder if Luc Bourdon’s sudden passing has given the boys a new energy. There are suddenly playing for the memory of a best friend and team mate. Rather than a shiny piece of metal. RIP Luc Bourdon.
