I always thought I was born in the wrong generation. The music, cars and movies I love all seem to be from a time before mine. Or maybe I just had to wait till I turned 22. The band “Parlor Mob” is the latest and greatest creation to come out of New Jersey. These guys got it all going, from guitars to tamborines to a care free attitude. I cannot wait to see these guys in Vancouver August 31! Its gonna be an amazing time.

Stumbled upon this guy reading some paper called e@x%#@*&*#& or something like that… lol. Its a free Vancouver paper I found waiting for my burrito. Anyways hes alright so far. I’m not sure if he is part of the machine or an artist. I guess we will just have to wait and see. Hes one of those artists that will be famous after some house or electronic dj remixes his song. Trust me you’ll know what I mean after you watch the video.

Yo you know the cool kids? Not those chumps you may have went to school with. I’m talking about the fantastic duo called ” The Cool Kids”. A couple young fresh kids combining fashion with retro rap is on fire right now. They used to roll with A Trak on his label Fool’s Gold but left after not getting the right attention. They remind me of a NERD meets 80′s rap with a dash of rock n roll. Well that’s my description anyways you decide for yourself.

Check em out super chill band. A really indie feel hopefully they won’t go away to quick. For now they are definitely killin it. Their lyrics are awesome and I am still not sure if they live by them. They are pretty crazy and theres a lot of suggestions of getting messed on some mind altering drugs.

A wicked group I recently stumbled upon. Although they have been out for some time now. They are slowly creepin on North America. Aren’t we last to hear about great bands anyways? No.. well Maybe its just me. Anyways this Aussie super group, has an amazing sound thats techy, indie, new wave and everything great about a new sound. They have several solid hits and if you haven’t fallen victim to downloading, it’s definitely an album worth picking up. Hits like Strangers is a chuggin fast tempo beat with a solid hook and Kelly a more mellow laid back tune you can really chill out to.

Detroit Detroit Detroit…. they did it again. Not to mention a bunch of records. Lidstrom first Eurotrash captain to captain a winning team and our good ol boy Dan Cleary first Newfoundlander to win a cup. This was another memorable year of hockey and another great series to watch. The nail biting end of the game was great. I was hoping lady luck was on their side for the stretch.

Wow what a game! Six periods of intense talented hockey, a broken nose and 3 garbage goals. The hockey gods have blessed us all with a game 6. As Ipredicted, Detroit will take it in six back home and add some more hardware to their jewelery box. I have to admit I wasn’t sure if I was watching NHL hockey or a tom thumb game. Evgeni Malkin touching the puck for an offside, when he obviously knew it was. And of course those garbage goals. Kronwall scoring on his net (not a bad shot) and the final goal. Off the refs backside and right to Malkin. I guess in the big picture that is just a part of playoff hockey. A result of hard work, emotionally drained players and the fact that someone has to win. I think the only one who wasn’t in it was Mario Lemeuix. He sat there the whole game without an ounce of expression on his face. took the OT goal to awake super Mario.

You got to wonder if Luc Bourdon’s sudden passing has given the boys a new energy. There are suddenly playing for the memory of a best friend and team mate. Rather than a shiny piece of metal. RIP Luc Bourdon.

Where’s Sydney?

After the shellacking yesterday I realized the Penguins ARE human and the Redwings are still some super breed created by the evil Scotty Bowman. The 3-0 win was definitely a wake up call and a necessary one. The Redwings showed their experience and how sticking to a well thought out strategy works. Babcock shut down Sydney Crosby so well at times, I didn’t even realize he was there, until he was laid out on his ass or robbed of the puck. It just goes to show how deep the Redwings team is, that they can allocate such good talent like Draper to shadow a player. Leaving Zetterberg Datsyuk and others to put points on the board. I really don’t think the Penguins can use that same tactic. Can they really afford to delegate a star to shutdown the Redwings. It would be just wasting time and delaying the inevitable. Although I want the Penguins to win, I really don’t think this is their year. Unfortunately this really is their only chance for another 3-4 years to win this cup. We all know next year they are possibly going to lose alot of talent to the mighty dollar. So here it is everybody the almighty prediction……. Redwings in 6 winning at home. And for the Penguins, I guess they will have less time to work on their short game and another vacant lot on their finger.
